  Building Community

PFC Day 2017Playing for Change Day 2017 has come and gone. It was our final public event of the season, following months of planning and organizing by an eager team of volunteers.

We started with a great concert in May at the Cathedral Village Arts Festival, plus the Playing for Change Film Festival last weekend at the RPL Film Theatre, and the Playing for Change Saskatchewan Band in concert at the Harvest Moon Festival.

Our big Playing for Change Saskatchewan event ran all afternoon and evening at the Artful Dodger Cafe in Regina: dancers, musicians, drummers, story-tellers, a special children's area, a silent auction and our first-ever Round Dance. A good event with lots of community support, a great time, a successful fundraiser...
because music education matters!

Drumming the Village at PFC Day 2017
Joanne Crofford brought the Drumming the Village ensemble back to Playing for Change Day's concert and fundraising gathering at the Artful Dodger Cafe in Regina. The day-long celebration of music and art brought more than 60 performers to the stage, with a children's music area and a silent auction, raising over $4000 for music and arts education projects in Saskatchewan, and for 15 music schools operated by the Playing for Change Foundation in 11 countries in the developing world.
