Duo Cofradia at the Slate Gallery

Testing out the acoustics for their concert on April 25th at the Slate Fine Art Gallery, Lia Llorente and Pachi Ruiz rehearse a few tunes and visit with some dear friends. Our two cuban troubadors will also be performing at the Moose Jaw Cultural Centre on Friday, May 4.

Saskatchewan will be blooming with Latin rhythms and swaying to the beat of Cuban salsa and jazz as the internationally-acclaimed Dúo Cofradía return for a three-week concert tour of the province in April.

Dúo Cofradía is made up of two outstanding musicians from the historical city of Trinidad de Cuba, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Pachi Ruiz and Lia Llorente perform their own original songs combining traditional Afro-Cuban beats with Latin jazz, blues and powerful ballads. Although the vocals are in Spanish, the energy of their music draws everyone into the spirit of Cuba. This will their third concert and workshop tour to Saskatchewan. Their theme, Primavera, is the Spanish word for Spring.

Dúo Cofradía will be hosting school workshops and concert performances throughout southern Saskatchewan, premiering in Regina will be at the new Slate Fine Art Gallery, at 13th and Elphinstone on Thursday, April 25th. Advance tickets are on sale.
